Project Introduction Crystal Ore: Aiden Liao
The subject that I chose is a Crystal Ore I discovered near Jade Mount one day, while walking with my aunt. But she passed away three years ago, this object connects with geology and history. It also is a connection of me and her. Because of my father's work in the mountain, so I went on the mount to live in the dorm with my father, and the aunt take care of me .
The front side of the ore, you can see the at the bottom of the ore it's marble the middle of the ore it's jade and the top of the ore is some crystal block. I got this crystal ore in 2013, the first impression is really dirty and it's full of dirt and moss, I washed it and brushed it when I arrived our dorm. So that means the crystal ore it's having the long history to form it. It records the development and changes of the earth for hundreds of millions of years, and retains the indelible memory of the powerful force that shaped it. They either appear due to high pressure, or grow in deep underground caves, or form in rock formations, or undergo weathering and erosion. Eventually, their properties and functions are affected by different formation environments.
The growth environment of crystals is mostly underground or in caves. It needs a rich source of groundwater. Groundwater contains saturated silica. At the same time, the pressure here needs to be about two to three times that of atmospheric pressure. The temperature needs to be between 550-600℃, and given a suitable time, the crystal will follow the "hexagonal crystal system"
The jade mountain has a long history, in Ming Dynasty the leader of it come to Taiwan for the place of against the Qing Dynasty. In early time he found the Jade on the mount and they start to processing it as the decorations or sculpture. But now Jade is very common in Taiwan, but not all of them having the great quality. The great quality jade has the really high price in Taiwan, and the cheapest one is the one that you can expected.
Is it available of the crystal ore? I'm not sue about it because most of the crystal that they have in the market, there all processing. Even we're not sure about is it real or not, so I has the one it is original. It's reserve the nature and the geology of the time developed, and also the memories of the relationship between me and the aunt the time we stayed on the mountain. Or it is not even available that I expected it's all just my pipe dream.
In cultural Taiwan has the jade trading with other country long time ago, people used to wear the accessories only for the noble, but now every people can have it. And in early time some country has take some of jade from Taiwan, because the territory in early time; like Japan. Jade is really historical, valuable and cultured, people shouldn't over exploitation.
